With close to 1500 students today IMS, Dehradun commands a reputation of being the oldest & the largest Management Institute of the State. Established in the year 1996, the Society is the brainchild of captains of industry and academicians. It aims at creating knowledge centres in the fields of management, technical education, training, research and consultancy, thereby adding value to the corporates, society, community and the nation at large. In its quest for becoming architects of change, in 1996 the Society started offering courses in Business Studies, IT, Engineering, Law, Architecture, Pharmacy, Fashion Designing, Mass Communication through its various Institutes at different places. It also has Unison World School, an all girls school coming up shortly.

Dehradun is a thriving and attractive city which is widely recognized as an outstanding location to live and to study. It combines all the advantages of a compact, friendly and inexpensive location with the cultural and recreational facilities of a modern capital. Dehradun caters for all tastes, offering everything from the excitement of the city to the peace and tranquility of the nearby mountains and countryside. Such is the quality of the ‘Dehra experience’, that in a recent survey, a large majority of students said they would like to stay and live in the city after graduating from IMS.

Dehradun has a distinctive character, a good quality of life and a growing national and international reputation. As the capital city of Uttaranchal it is home to many national institutions and it aspires to become the IT capital of the North. The landmark buildings range from the colonial FRI to the magnificent Darbar Saheb. It is truly a wonderful place to be in. It has friendly and helpful people, an abundance of recreational opportunities (how does white water rafting sound to you?) and lots of places to see and visit. The city has a temperate climate (with temperatures ranging from 7^oc to 32 ^oc), is 240 km north east of Delhi, 2300 ft. above sea level and is well connected by rail, road and air.
